Coach Toby

Triathlon Coach Toby Coote

Head Coach, Toby Coote, is a former Australian Junior Triathlon Representative, former professional triathlete and High Performance (Level 2) Triathlon Coach. 

In addition to coaching 9 World Champions, Toby has become a welcomed authority on junior and senior athlete development, frequently collaborating with the International Triathlon Union (ITU), Triathlon Australia (TA), African Triathlon Union (ATU) and Triathlon Queensland (TQ) to help deliver high performance coaching and support via development camps, lectures and coaching clinics. 

With a strong sense of purpose and distinctive coaching style, Toby has compiled a long list of coaching achievements, mentoring numerous athletes to regional, state, Australian and International representative standards.  Since launching SCTA in 2002 he has also curated a successful junior program guiding 40 juniors into Queensland Schools Triathlon Teams for the National Triathlon Championships.

Sam Penny - Extreme Swimmer

Sam Penny

Sam Penny is a self-confessed extreme swimming. Sam swam the English Channel in 2018 and has continued his ultra-marathon swimming into more extreme feats. Sam swam an Ice Mile in July 2019 in Australia's Snowy Mountains. In December 2019, he was the first person to attempt to swim the English Channel in Winter!
